There’s a cost-effective way to equip a conventional lathe with a collet chuck. Manual lathe chuck gripping collets per DIN 6341 with unit number type 385E are also designated as 5C collets. This type of collet is often used for gripping workpieces on cutting machine tools. The collets cover a chucking range of about 2-25 mm. With optional stop screws incorporated, these lathe chucks can also be used for small series production.
